New Pokémon League prizes: Mega Charizard X, Mega Gengar and Mega Kangaskhan standees, plus a new Battle Box

Pokémon League rewards are getting a refresh. Starting in October, Play! Pokémon Stores will receive new League Kits with a fresh set of prizes, according to Pokémon.com. The headline items are acrylic standees of three Mega Evolutions, and the kits also bring a new Battle Box with its own card pool.

How you earn the Mega standees

You earn the standees by playing League at your local Play! Pokémon Store and reaching the monthly maximum of League activity points. Your points go on the store’s new activity tracking poster, where you choose an avatar sticker to show your progress.

The three picks fit the moment. Mega Evolution is the current era of the Pokémon TCG, and Mega Kangaskhan ex is already a tournament card: it led the Basic Box list that won the Baltimore Regional.

The new Battle Box, explained

The Battle Box is a ready-made way for two people to play without bringing decks. Each box includes everything two Trainers need, instructions included, for a quick draft: you build 40-card decks using only the box’s cards, and Energy is provided rather than drafted.

This edition has 80 cards, from Scarlet & Violet—Journey Together through Mega Evolution—Phantasmal Flames. There’s only one copy of each card, so every game plays differently. The cards go back into the box after each game so other Trainers can use them too.

That makes it a good fit for new players, casual nights and anyone who wants to try recent cards before buying them.

What it means for players in the Philippines

Pokémon.com’s announcement is about Play! Pokémon Stores and doesn’t say whether these kits will reach the Philippines. Here, official play runs through Pokémon Asia’s GYM program, which has its own rewards. We’ll update this story if Pokémon Asia announces the standees or the Battle Box for local GYMs.

In the meantime, local players have their own reasons to show up at a GYM this season:
