Frankfurt Regional 2026 results: Alakazam takes first and second in a Dragapult field

Nearly 2,800 players, and a result few would have predicted. Tomasz Chałupka of Poland won the Masters Division with Alakazam/Dusknoir, beating countryman Mateusz Łaszkiewicz in a final between two players with exactly the same 60 cards.

The event drew 2,793 players, according to Limitless TCG, with 30th Celebration cards legal: the format ran from Temporal Forces to 30th Celebration. The same weekend, Dragapult took the top six places in Brisbane. In Frankfurt, it didn’t get past fourth.

The numbers: a small deck, a big finish

We counted every deck among the 508 players in the second phase on Limitless’s standings:

Alakazam was only the seventh most played deck in Day 2, one in twenty players, and it took first and second. Dragapult was again the most played deck by far, close to a third of the field, and converted that into three Top 8 spots. Ogerpon had the worst weekend: 45 players in Day 2, the second most of any deck, and none in the Top 16.

Why Alakazam/Dusknoir worked

The deck turns the size of your hand into damage. Its main attacker, Alakazam, has an attack called Powerful Hand that places two damage counters on the opponent’s Active Pokémon for every card in your hand. The rest of the list is built to keep that hand big:

• Psychic Draw on both Kadabra and Alakazam. When you play either from your hand to evolve, the Ability draws cards: two for Kadabra, three for Alakazam. The list plays four Kadabra, three Alakazam and four Rare Candy.
• Dusknoir to finish the job. Its Cursed Blast Ability puts 13 damage counters on one of the opponent’s Pokémon, then Knocks Out Dusknoir itself. It can take a Prize card Alakazam can’t reach, at the cost of giving one up.
• Four Telepathic Psychic Energy. When you attach it from your hand to a Psychic Pokémon, you search your deck for up to two Basic Psychic Pokémon and put them on your Bench, so one Energy fetches Abra and Duskull.
• Supporters built for card flow: four Hilda, four Dawn and three Gwynn, with just one Boss’s Orders.

It’s also cheap. Limitless prices the list at about $21, roughly ₱1,300 by our conversion at ₱62.40 per US dollar, before shipping and local markups. That’s about half the price of the Dragapult list that won Brisbane.

The list got around. Limitless shows the same 60 cards played by five players, including Bohao Wang, who finished 23rd with it in Brisbane the same weekend.

Six countries in eight seats, and five different archetypes. Dusknoir appears in four of them, as a partner to Alakazam, Dragapult and Mega Lopunny. It’s quietly becoming one of the most important cards in the format.

What Frankfurt means for players in the Philippines

Frankfurt and Brisbane were played on the same weekend, in the same format, and point in different directions. That’s useful.

1. Dragapult is still the deck to prepare for. It was the most played deck at both events. But Frankfurt shows it can be beaten by a deck that doesn’t care about bench damage.
2. Alakazam/Dusknoir is a real budget option. At about half the price of the Brisbane-winning Dragapult list, it’s worth testing if you’re building a deck for the GYM Campaign 2026, which starts October 1.
3. Pack a Dusknoir plan. Four of the Top 8 decks used it. Cursed Blast can Knock Out a damaged Pokémon from anywhere, so don’t leave weakened Pokémon sitting on your Bench.
