Dragapult is back on top, and with the same 60 cards again. Andrew Hedrick of the United States won the Puebla Regional Championship in Mexico, held from Saturday, October 24, with Dragapult, in a field of 2,234 players, according to Limitless TCG. Caleb Rogerson, also from the US, finished second with exactly the same list, the one Riley McKay used to win the Louisville Regional two weeks earlier.
The format was Temporal Forces to 30th Celebration, the same as at the Nice Regional the week before, where Basic Box won.
The Puebla Regional numbers: six of the Top 8
Limitless lists 369 players in the second phase, from 14 countries. Here are the most played deck families, plus every other family that reached the Top 8:
| Deck | Day 2 players | Top 8 | Top 16 |
|---|---|---|---|
| Dragapult (all builds) | 127 (34.4%) | 6 | 8 |
| Basic Box | 35 (9.5%) | 0 | 1 |
| Dhelmise | 29 (7.9%) | 0 | 0 |
| Alakazam | 28 (7.6%) | 1 | 2 |
| Slowking | 27 (7.3%) | 0 | 0 |
| N’s Zoroark | 26 (7.0%) | 0 | 3 |
| Lopunny | 8 (2.2%) | 1 | 1 |
Dragapult’s share was nearly the same as at Louisville (34.0%) and Nice (35.7%). The difference was conversion: in Nice it took two Top 8 spots, and in Puebla it took six. The 127 players split into 83 on the standard build, 21 on Dragapult Blaziken, 14 on Dragapult Dusknoir and 9 on Dragapult Dudunsparce.
Basic Box, the Nice winner, put just one player in the Top 16. N’s Zoroark bounced back after missing the Top 16 at both Louisville and Nice, with three players in 12th to 14th, but none in the Top 8.
The winning list: one 60, two Regional wins
Hedrick’s Dragapult is the list that has defined this format. It runs four Dreepy, four Drakloak and three Dragapult ex, with two Munkidori, two Budew, Dunsparce and Dudunsparce, and one each of Meowth ex and Fezandipiti ex. The Trainers include four Lillie’s Determination, three Boss’s Orders, two Crispin, four Buddy-Buddy Poffin, four Poké Pad, four Crushing Hammer and two Risky Ruins, and the deck plays three each of Fire, Psychic and Darkness Energy. Limitless prices it at $40.51.
Limitless groups identical lists, and this one now has a remarkable record:
| Regional | Players on the exact list | Best finish |
|---|---|---|
| Frankfurt | 2 | 104th |
| Louisville | 30 | 1st (Riley McKay) |
| Nice | 27 | 5th (Yuya Kogai) |
| Puebla | 12 | 1st and 2nd (Hedrick, Rogerson) |
Both finalists brought it to Louisville too: Rogerson finished 18th there and Hedrick 145th. Calvin Connor also placed 11th in Puebla with it.

What Puebla means for players in the Philippines
No Filipino players are listed in Puebla’s Day 2, but the format is the one we play now.
- Dragapult is the deck to beat, and the stock list is proven. The same 60 has now won two of the last three Regionals. If you play Dragapult at your next GYM Battle or Ultra Ball League stop, this is the list to start from.
- Have a real plan against it. Dragapult was about a third of Day 2 at Louisville, Nice and Puebla. Nice showed it can be beaten, but in Puebla it filled six of the Top 8.
- Meowth ex keeps showing up. Both finalists play one, and a foil Meowth ex comes in the Deck Crafter’s Collection (see our October releases guide).
- The format is about to change. Delta Reign launches in English on November 6, so expect new decks once it’s legal. See our Delta Reign products guide.
